Mildew is white and green, whereas mold tends to be green or black. Mildew also develops in a flat pattern and has a fluffy look, while mold has a slimy look to it.

Regular exposure to mildew can cause a sore throat, coughing, and soreness but typically won’t harm your premises.

Prolonged exposure to mycotoxins made by black mold can cause migraines, inflammation, stress in the joints, heart problems, depression, and exhaustion.

Black mold can affect the long-term health of kids and individuals with compromised immune systems. In addition to being bad for your health, mold can cause severe structural damage to your house if left untreated as it destroys the surface where it develops.
